we are BlackRock chronicles the history
and entrepreneurial path taken by Larry Fink, Ralph
Schlosstein, Sue Wagner, Rob Kapito, Barb Novick, Keith
Anderson, and Ben Golub, who together started the wildly
successful asset management company, BlackRock, in 1988.

This 42 minute film was commissioned by BlackRock to
commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the firm.
Larry Fink, Ralph Schlosstein, and the other founders of
BlackRock transformed what began as a tiny fixed income shop,
beginning with 8 people in 1988, into a trillion dollar global
asset management firm - a firm which was grounded around the
concept of risk-management.
The documentary examines the entrepreneurial roots of the
company founders as well as the companies which joined the
BlackRock family: State Street Research, Merrill Lynch
Investment Management, and Quellos.
The film screened at Gotham Hall in New York at an
extraordinary event hosted by BlackRock in 2008.
